what is the keto diet ?

The keto diet or he ketogenic is a diet with a low carbs and low protein or adequate protein  and high fats intake .






The history of the Ketogenic Diet :

In 1911 two Parisian physicals used starvation to treat children who suffer from epilepsy but there was no details on treatment but the one for sure is that the treatment of fasting work  to lower the seizures , and after them a lot of research has made too see the effect of starvation in 1920s doctor notice that the effect of epilepsy has decrease by the effect of fasting or a low carbs and high fats diet and from that on research kept going on the keto diet and it impact to the human body from many aspects not only for curing epilepsy , but the major use and the one is was famous by it to cure and treat children with epilepsy  .

What is the Ketogenic Diet ? :

So the simple answer is a modified fasting in other word you decrease your carbs intake to be less than 50 g a day and in the other hand increase the fats and protein intake throw the day . 

What is the Ketosis ? : 

The main source of energy to the human body is glucose came from the carbohydrates but the absence of them lead to what to the human body ,so when you are fasting or in a keto diet for a period more than 3 days your body don't have  enough fuel from the carbs so it's should replaced the source of energy and that lead the body to produce the keto bodies and use them as a source of energy instead of carbs and this body has more energy than the one come from the carbs and this the the ketosis mechanism . 

Benefits of Keto diet :

despite it's benefit in the treatment of epilepsy a lot of study put the keto under review to see other effects on the human body :

Weight lose :

In a several study  shows that the keto diet or low carbs diet has a significant effect in the long term of losing weight and have a greater result than low fat diet in decreasing  the body weight [1].   

Reduce hunger and less food intake :

Ina study published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that its aimed to see the result of high protein and low carbs diet on appetite and food intake , and this study put seventeen obese on a diet and the result showed that high protein and low carbs diet has effect in reducing hunger and food intake in the short term [2] .

brain cancer :

A lot of research has proven that the keto is safe for cancer and brain tumor and may help in the treatment process  and a effective way to fight cancer cells [3],[4].

Diabetes :

after several study researchers has found that the low carbs keto diet can help patients with diabetes type to control their glycemic level and lowering blood glucose ,but always under supervision of their doctors [5].  

For the conclusion the keto has proven it benefits in treatment a lot of diseases without the help of medicals and pills .
